Children At UW-Hospital On Christmas Day
Nothing seems more unfair to me every year at the Holidays than to know there are children who are very sick, requiring them to be in a hospital over Christmas. At UW-Madison University Hospital there are 62 patient beds in the children’s unit. Sadly, too many of them will be in use again this year.
There has been a strong effort underway to insure that these toddlers, kids, and teenagers are comforted, and not forgotten during this Holiday season. It is not too late for each of my readers in the Madison/Dane County area to help lift the burden for these kids at the UW Hospital.
It is suggested that you buy a new toy and take it a local Culver’s in the Madison area by Dec. 24th. Leave the tags on the toy and just drop them into the bin in the front part of each restaurant. Santa is making a stop at the UW Hospital on Christmas Eve, and you can be responsible for helping to put a smile on a kid’s face while lifting the burden just a bit.
This past Saturday we dropped off two new teddy bears at our local Culvers, and hope that the recipients at the children’s hospital will soon find their way back home after Christmas. Let the season take hold in your heart by reaching out and making a kid at the hospital smile on Christmas Eve.
