Strange Maps A Winner In Every Way Imaginable
When one thinks about blogging the first notion that usually comes to mind is a site with news and politics, with a certain angle or partisan perspective. While many of these types of blogs abound on the information highway, and provide fine commentary and grist for the dialogue of the day, there are many other non-political blogs that make for just plain interesting reading and enjoyment. One of the most notable blogs for its continuous excellence both in writing and presentation is Strange Maps.
This site has been in my favorites for many months as I have a fondness for maps, and the historical stories they tell. The creator of Strange Maps has a knack for selecting a wide array of maps, be they a cartogram of world population, the shrinking of Lake Chad, how Europe was divided by language and religious influences, or where evolution is taught in the United States. The history of the past that a map can detail, and the possible projections about the future, is what makes Strange Maps a site that you should view. I do have one caveat however, and that is this amazing site will consume your time due to the professionalism that its creator has used with every post. This site is a winner in every way imaginable and should be a learning tool in many a classroom.
If you doubt my endorsement ask the other 670,000 people who visit the site.
