Mike Huckabee Declares War On The Constitution…On God’s Behalf

How are we to respond to this?  I have followed politics for decades and may I say I was dumbfounded, and left speechless when I first heard this comment by the GOP hopeful Mike Huckabee on Tuesday night.   The vast majority of my readers who do not know me personally might not be aware I am rarely without a response to a remark such as Huckabee made.  But what he said at a campaign stop in Michigan is so amazing that I sat on the sofa, and was left speechless.  All I could do was just stare at the TV.

I am more than serious when I ask exactly what does a civics course in an Arkansas school look like?   Every bad stereotype about the south is being renewed daily as the Huckabee campaign rolls on.  And might I add that I find it shameful God always gets the bad rap for the nasty Republicans who wish to use him for their bigoted aims.

I did find this rather thoughtful response to Huckabee’s planned war on the Constitution, and post it for reflection.

While this is certainly a non-issue in the way that a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage was a non-issue in the last election, should anyone ever consider electing a person who even suggests such a thing? This man called the constitution “some contemporary view . . .” We can only hope the American people know better than to elect a man with such disrespect for the constitution.

Dispite what huckabee says here.. It is not easy to change the Constitution. And although many recent presidents have talked about ammendments, well its not part of there executive power.

I am assuming Huckabee understand this. This sounds like bible thumping to me.

But what about John McCain? His McCain-Feingold was openly anti-Constitution. Much of it has been overturned by the Supreme Court. George Will wrote a column quoting Mad Dog McCain as saying he just did not care about the Constitution in that regard. He is the champion of the crime wave that is illegal immigration. Ther already is a war on the Constitution and Mccain is one of its admirals.

I’d like to thank you for posting this video. I believe in the seperation of Church and State generally. I think i will be e-mailing this video to some busy friends who have mistaked Huccabee as a moderate Conservative.

This is truly disgusting…. What really scares me is that this dude has a chance to be president, and that so many blind evangelicals get wet over this nonsense. I thought we had this separation for a reason? no longer!!!
