Robert Novak Admits To Being Used By GOP

Wow.  If this were the first time. 

John McCain is having such a rough time of running for President that his aides need to lie to get a headline.  I smell defeat, John.

Robert Novak told Fox News that his reportyesterday about Sen. John McCain naming his running mate this week may have been “a dodge” by the campaign to steal some attention from Sen. Barack Obama.

Novak said he got the tip from a “very senior McCain aide” and that the campaign “suggested I put it out.” Now he feels he’s been used and that it’s “pretty reprehensible.”

I like Robert Novak, and add that I am a bit shocked he fell for this story.  Many thought right from the start it was a cheap stunt.
