As an American, I am really upset that Russia is empire building, We’ve already paid enough for their foolheartiness, and based on what I have read, Russia violated the sovereign border of Georgia and incited a revolution running 250,000+ Georgians out of their homes. I’m pretty sure that if the US has any unembattled moral ground left in our country that hasn’t been eroded from the inside by usurpers, we’ll get over there immediately and run the Russians out on behalf of the Georgian government and restore property rights to those displaced illegally. I support a unified Georgia and restored trade relations with russia. To hell with the sad excuse we call the UN, they put the wolves in charge of guarding the henhouse.

Well, maybe noone would ever have to worry about anything like WWIII if in 1945 Moscow got a little piece of what Nagasaki and Hiroshima recieved, and yeah you can bet there are many who said”lets just let Hitler and Stalin keep going and kill eachother, instead of wasting more of the World’s civilized christians, to fighting two evils which are the same: Nazzism and Communism, both enemies of God, and the rulers of: Hitler and Stalin, both evil, evil, evil! And if any of you would like to disagree, think about nations like Poland, Czechoslovakia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia,Latvia,Bulagaria,Yougoslavia, White Russia,Georgia,Kazakhstan,Hungary, Romania, having been treated with respect by foreign nations, free to self-govern, and free to worship God for the 50 year duration between 1945-1995, with respect to the sentiments of John Locke who stated that when any government is not doing its job: which is to serve the best interests of the people, the people under such a government have not only the right, but the responsibility to revolt against tyrrany and oppression, and to go further, if America had done such a great gift to the world as to end the Communist Dictatorship in 1945 along with the government which touted a leader such as Emporer Hirohito, businesses like Coca Cola, and General Motors, and Chevrolet, could have helped with the reconstruction of democracies in Eastern Europe, and people in those nations would not have marvelled at something like a door that opens to a grocery store automatically in Western Germany, and soon enough the land there in Siberia, could be the 51st state of the United States, like Alaska, free to worship God, and have a few governors like Sarah Palin, and maybe even have provided a couple democratic presidents for the United States over the last 60 years, and that way the rest of the world could have told Opec to go bury its head in the sand and continue to live off of Opium because something like the Cuba Missle Crises never would have happened, and something like the War in Afghanistan, and the War in Vietnam never would have happened praise God the Father Jesus, and praise God who can provide peace for all nations, and maybe another nice benny would be that all these scientists harping about global warming, and then a declining Polar Bear population in the Arctic Ocean would not exist, due to rotting obsolete Soviet nuclear submarines dumped up there in the freezer for storage, and maybe the hopes that the civilized world has for Iraq to be able to govern and police itself peacefully in under two years would have been a reality for Eastern Block countries around 50 years ago, but either way for anyone who can not appreciate world peace, and can or can not understand such a responsibility as dealing with modern day problems like Milosevic, or Hussein,or Putin, who wish they could have gotten away with the things that Stalin did, and for anyone who likes blood and carnage, you all can still thank those soldiers who landed in Normandy and took some sweat off the backs of some Communist-Atheist soldiers, whose son of a piece of garbage leader decided to agree to peace with Hitler in the first place and begin splitting Eastern Europe between themselves before World War II was really happening! While you all learn how to say Thankyou! You can share some more of your thankyous with the Resistance in France which worked underground, the British Military, and the Polish military which lasted 8 days, and the Ukrainian Christian Freedom Fighters who got to fight against Nazzism in the West and fight the Soviet invasion from the East for a whole lot more than eight days! When any other nation on the Block wants a government that is the least bit worth fighting for, you all can let me know, and say thankyou to the Red White and Blue, and Fifty stars, and start taking classes on who John Locke was, and who Thomas Jefferson was, and what something called a Bill of Rights is, and then you can take a molotoff cocktail and shove it up Putin’s behind for every 13year old south american boy who ever carried a AK-47 hoping someday to wear a beard like Fidel Castro and send a bunch of bananas, and sugar to Eastern Europe, and have doors in hallways that don’t open and close all the way. Its time for Russia to bow its head and beg for mercy for the imperialistic abuse of foreign nations, and Christians, and also peoples not of a Moscow ethinic background living in Siberia for the last 60 years, and its time for the people of Russia, to know what it means to fight a Revolution for a man like George Washington instead of Lenin, and have God’s peace when the revolution is over, and then Russia can start using its police to hunt down all former KGB Agents little more than a terrorist organization and do with them what the American Government did with Hussein, and then the Russian Government can apologize to the Roman Catholic Church for an assasination attempt on Pope John Paul the second. So for all of you who do or don’t feel bad about a haulocost in Germany and firey chambers for people half starved to death in the first place and then the haulocosts caused by Soviet Communism, and for all of you who call Lenin a hero, I got news for you, you all belong in two towns called Nagasaki and Hiroshima, in 1945 right when they got introduced to a new plant called a mushroom, and before you go there, whether it be before or after your death, you can apologize to the people in Checcnya also, and hope that you’ll all escape with a nice baptism in the Arctic Ocean! NExt time Putin wants to bully a small nation, let him taste an H-bomb. God’s will be done, not my will, and I tell you why, because a people who say “this land is not ours” is far wiser, and braver than other peoples on this earth. Lord have mercy on all of your souls: especially Russia, iran, North Korea, and China, and may you all start praising God that most people who have a brain don’t want anything like what happened to the people in Georgia, or on the beaches of Normandy, or in Nagasake, or in Hiroshima, or in Vietnam,or in some fire chambers in Germany, God have mercy! I wonder how Truman really felt!
If WWIII did take place what would you all do? Move to Antarctica, or Australia, or Kilamanjorro, or Hawaii, or would everone just start saying hosanna in the highest,or Woe is me Oh wretched man that I am. Who shall release me from this body of sin? or Drink the waters that I have for you and you shall never thirst again. Peace be with you!

I came here for the map. Just trying to eduate my children. I am not surprised by the USA hatred out there. I first saw how much my country is “loved” when in the Army stationed overseas. I have heard that all the worlds woes are the dirrect fault of the USA. No matter what language, it sounds the same. What troubles me are the Americans who join in the hate speech directed at our country. I realize that our leaders have made mistakes in the past, the present, and most likely in the future. But for an American to proudly say every thing wrong in the world is our fault sickens me. I put my butt on the line to protect your right to free speech. Sometimes I wonder if that was a mistake.

it is about time the world understands the real doubble crossing policies of the USA. hope some more countries join russia and politly ask the US to mind their own business in their own country and not in EU or any part of the world. US needs a economical downfall and looks like it is on the right track to get one pretty soon. Hope for the best prepare for the worst.

Its the power of our example rather than the example of our power that affects the world’s behavior. Russia is merely following our example in Korea, Vietnam, and now Iraq. We rarely return our enemies to their previous boundry. We invade their homeland just as Russia is doing to Georgia. Now let’s hope they and we have the good scense to withdraw to their original boundries and not have to be kicked out.

republic of Georgia president Saakashvili should never started the midnight killing of innocent civilians. The 2 breakaway regions will never be part of georgia again.
He will go down in history as the man who loss land for georgia & get procecuted in criminal court in Hague. The western countries did the covering for him
& is biased & double standard.

When bullets whiz by your head you are busy.

But one thing you notice after it is calm again.

If it really looks bad, people call out to God- Help me.

When the poop hits the fan and your life is in immediate danger, people do not even notice and call out to God without thinking.

    It is automatic.
    It is human.
That is the way we are built.

No, wars are not all fought over belief in God.
Most are fought over resources and land when you peel away the layers.

Religion has the been cause almost every war in history. The greedy, power hungry people who preach war based on religious beliefs is leading the blind and dumb to their demise. You can point the finger at the preacher, but your dumb a$$ is following him and you’ll be gone while he’ll be convincing your friends to follow your idiocy. Religion is philosophy and can be interperted by anyone in anyway. Why doesn’t everyone reflect on their own desires and the ways to aquire them in peaceful ways? Then we wouldn’t be killing eachother in the name of the dead, for empty promises, or based on someone’s backward interpertation of something beautiful.

Though Saakashvili’s attempt at getting constitutional “law and order” in South Ossetia, Russia’s harsh response is completely unjustified. Even now, after an agreed-upon cease-fire, Russian troops occupy Gori-a strategic Georgian town. These facts raise serious questions about Russia’s intentions in the region.

Adn why the tried to free Irak if they had nothing to do either??? well because USA think they are the best and go after the $$$!!! But you are right they are not that stupid, they nknow who to mess with. Why they dont send troops, Planes, ships to georgia? Because they know who to mess with, and definitely they dont want to mess with RUSSIA!

Putin – the real leader – plans to annex South
Ossetia to Russia, using the claim Ossetians want independence from Georgia. He is being double standard. Chechnya wants independence from Russia but he attacked them. If Russia annexes Ossetia then Chechnya should be declared independent.
Instead of spending money on military conquest, Putin should be spending money on decreasing Russsian poverty.

Georgia joins the US as having semi- democratically elected civilians as moron military leaders. If Georgia killed Russian peacekeepers to start this, then it is ALL their fault. A big IF, but how dumb can the Georgian leaders be? Look no further than the Nuke weapons the US cleaned up in Iraq.

My religion teaches me peace, love, and generosity as do most respectable religions. Don’t make such harsh accusations at the faithfull. Politicians start wars not religionist. Men who lust after power and wealth have always used the humble and meek as a scapegoat.

If you really believe there is a god then you are delusional. When you die you die and that is it. Why don’t we all just try to live in peace and forget about who is better and who is stronger? Killing in the name of oil or religion is ridiculous.

Great map. The U.S. is not going to respond. Georgia, for one reason or the other, misjudged the political reality on the ground. The US, the EU, and NATO, at most, are shouting words of encouragement, from very far away.

  23. 2008 August 12

The map is great. Let’s hope the lid on this time bomb stays shut. The counter opinions that are flying around begin to point at Israel as the arms supplier to Georgia. Then of course the Oil issue. Independent status is the main threat. For once can we just not get involved…

Yes WWIII would be very serious. If we in the USA were going to respond on behalf of Georgia, we would have done it by now.

    Why the bickering here?
The US tried and failed to get Georgia into NATO before the poop hit the fan with Russia invading.

The EU was respected to start a cease fire, not the USA.

No nukes on the horizon today folks, go to your homes in an orderly fashion.

To this day we know Russia is the stronger country military wise, they have put their fear into Georgia by showing just that (entering the country with with an unnecessary abundant force, killing a vast amount civilians and then leaving again like nothing had happened)… hoping this fear will generate respect and future obedience to the Mother country. However and I quote… no, not from the Bible but from a known green midget source saying “Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering” I pray the latter will not come to be, for the the day will surely come when Russia has burned its own bridges across the world and when allies are running short.

As it is today what has happened will be forgotten in the stream of news from the Olympic Games, another thousand or so people have lost their lives due to Russians atempt to set the status que in balance. but in the end of the day we now that ” Fear is the path to the dark side”!

We are not all dumb here. Most of us are sick of all of this. Some of us (maybe most) fell into the well thought out theatrical presentation of 9-11 and believed at the time that we were supporting a government that had our best interests in mind. Now, most of us know that this was misguided and some of us know that our government is imposing a highly experimental society on us. Most do not know that we are not free which is the worst tyranny and oppression of all. If all of the Americans realized that civil unrest here would bring about world peace, they may possibly change. However, that is unlikely due to the amount of propaganda that is being fed to us here along with all of the mind numbing toxins being distributed into food and water supplies. PEACE BE WITH ALL! LOVE TO THE WORLD FROM THE U.S.

Indeed dangerous. And we’re given the usual bread and circuses Olympics and cartoons to distract us while this could potentially turn into WW3. But as long as it doesn’t affect a person personally, few, except for the strong minded, will care. Check this article I wrote to get a better bead on the situation.
