    Patrick,

As Derek admits, Liberals like the idea of this sort of spending. They’re hardly going to complain about it.

Of course, Derek is better than a lot of them; he’s consistent. He supported the idea even when it was Bush doing it. That’s a rarity.

    Patrick,

I supported Bush on the the TARP funding, and had several posts on this blog in support of getting the lines of credit opened up again with the banks. I still think it needed to be done, and only wish that there had been the oversight needed to insure that the money was applied better. I also wished that those who received the money had been more ethical. But had they been ethical at the outset, much of what happened with the housing crisis would never have taken place.

Bush was irresponsible with the nation’s budget, but you’ll note that congress, a democratc congress, was right there to approve the worst abuses. But the current stimulus creats deficit far beyond that of the Bush years in just three weeks. Where’s the outrage?

On the contrary……this blog will continue to do updates on the job projects, employment, etc. The economic crisis created under the Republicans will take time to correct, and more stimulus funding will be required down the road. All that will be dealt with here, as I have already been doing. So do not fret.

But I do wonder why the conservatives always felt they could kill hundreds of thousands in Iraq and never feel that they needed to find a way to pay for their amusement. That was more than ‘generational theft’, that was murder.

“Will blogs that ran tickers trumpeting the cost of the war in Iraq now tick off the cost of the stimulus bill?”

That’d be doubtful. Most of those blogs were run by Liberals and they’re hardly going to attack one of their own. Besides, they like the Generational Theft Act; it fits their vision of the future.

“estimated” being the key word here. I wonder how many of these jobs will be private? If the stimulus fails to meet these targets will this bill be considered a failure? Will blogs that ran tickers trumpeting the cost of the war in Iraq now tick off the cost of the stimulus bill? The huge burden put on future generations?

Not much seems to be going to Red States. I wonder if this is due to lack of need for federal subsidy, or punitive action on the part of Liberals.
