Listen To Final WGN “Kathy And Judy Show” Here

UPDATED

The news was harsh this morning.  “Kathy and Judy” were released from their contract with WGN Radio.

The last show was sad.  How could it not be?

But if you were fans I recommend listening to the broadcast.

It all can be found here.  (There are three one-hour segments.)

I suggest kleenix for the third hour!

Also hear the final song of the Friday broadcast here.

And when you are listening do not forget to let WGN Radio know how you feel!

Still missing the Kathy and Judy show. Probably now more than ever. Fall is here and soon winter will be settling in. They always helped to divert attention paid to the cold winter months with lots of laughs and so many interesting topics. I wish I could get copies of some of their past shows. Does anyone know of any? I hope WHN goes in the toilet. They deserve it

I am going to miss the “Letting Go” Show!!! We looked forward to that all year! My mom, sister, and I would sit in the family room, staring at the radio and listening as they used to do in the old days! I guess the song is somewhat appropo for their leaving! ;-) Miss them!

I was out of the area from May 21 -August 1. I could not believe that Kathy and Judy weren’t on WGN when I returned and wanted to listen to my favorite daytime morning show. Unbelievable! The only radio show I was regularly interested in. It is sad there is no longer a show with female hosts who address female interests. I no longer listen to WGN.

As a very long time listener – back when Wally ruled WGN. . . I listened to K&J from day one & always felt priveleged to be a girlfriend. They made me laugh, & cry, & always made me sad when I missed a segment. . . they were so natural & funny & sharp & terrific radio . .. but I waited til now – trying to understand why they were so abruptly removed from the station. Now I have given up comletely. WGN is no longer my station. There is nothing on it to appeal to me any longer. The replacements are annoying & obnoxious. What I would like to know is: WHY WHY WHY did you have to remove the best of WGN? & Where did they GO.
    Sadly missing my girls. Maria

I can’t believe you do not have the girls on the station anymore! That show was the highlight of the day. The replacement is not a replacement! Are you removing Steve too? John Williams is very good, but without Kathy and Judy I will not be turning WGN on in my car or my home. Sadly, Marllyn Keating

`Your doing your best to ruin what was considered Chicago’s best radio station! Fifty years of building great respect as atop station with great people like Uncle Bobby, The spiker and the GIRLS, more recently John Williams. You even took a big step backwards rethread
Gary Meyers. But now this jerk who took the girls place, sucks! Who the hells cast of is he?
After not moving my radio dial for most of my adult life, thats over!!! ED Wood

How do we feel about WGN now that C&J are no longer there? I’m happy to tell you. I am erasing WGN from the #1 spot on our car radios and my Bose in-house radio. Without Cathy & Judy, you have nothing of interest except the Cubs, and I can get them on our local Springfield, IL station. You folks really dropped the ball when you dropped our favorite girl friends. So long, WGN.

We need our own “letting go” show. While our girls have not gone to away to college … we too have to let them go.
I will alway be wondering what phone or car trouble Judy has been getting into, or what situation Kathy has gotten herself into. They will be sorely missed. Hope they find something else – so that we can find them. xoxo

Dea Ones, I loved your show so much and my mother, Dorothy Schwarz, also loved the show. She was the lady who came to your convention with a dental emergency the day of the convention, but she came anyway and told you about it. She called your show a lot but didn’t make it on the air. Talk about giving a person company in her older years. She and I often discussed the show. She passed away on 12-22-07, at 95 years young, and one comment my sister made was ,”Thank God Mom wasn’t here to see the day Kathy and Judy were taken off the air.” She would have been sooooo pissed as are we all. I knew this day had to come but I can’t help feeling so bad. You were always so well prepared and so great at radio. There will never be another show like yours because the two of you were so great and unique at radio. The Oscar for great radio goes th Kathy and Judy. Thank you and Love Always

The song was “The Way Old Friends Do” by Abba.

I have placed it on this blog for my “Saturday Song”, and it can be seen/heard on the link below.

I will miss the show—I did not agree with them at times but they did serve as a vehicle for the listeners to respond . They served a need for the listeners to air their opinions agreeing or disagreeing. Could you please inform me of the song they aired at the end of their final show. Will miss them. Thanks
