Fortunately for all of us, Mike H wrote…………….The *joke* was made in reference to the daughter who accompanied Palin to the Yankees game. That daughter was 14-year old Willow Palin. 18-year old Bristol was apparently still in Alaska. Unless Letterman assumed that A-Rod flew to Juneau during the 7th inning stretch, I think Gov. Palin is correct in assuming the joke was made at Willow’s expense.
This makes dekerivers look like he did NOT do his homework on this one. Oops. HOW COULD HE HAVE MISSED THAT???? He believes that Sarah Palin’s 14 year old daughter must be having sex because she “brought” Willow into the dialog and not Bristol. IF IT IS TRUE THAT WILLOW WAS AT THE BALL GAME, AND NOT BRISTOL, THEN THIS HAS BEEN A HUGH WASTE OF TIME FOR EVERYONE HERE. Especially dekerivers. He says there was NO MENTION OF WILLOW IN THE JOKE. That could not be more WRONG. If Willow was at the game, and not Bristol, WILLOW WAS THE ONLY DAUGHTER MENTIONED IN THE JOKE. Time for you to back peddle, re-direct the focus somewhere else, and hide the cold hard facts again.

Ok here is the thing people, who give a flying hell who the comment was about,
Bristol or Willow the man is still a disgusting sick pervert who needs his ass to be sued off! He shouldn’t talk about any woman and or child like that! it just shows that hes a disgusting pervert who will never grow up! i hate Letterman he’s an jerk!
The Palin family is awesome and i love them all to death! Sarah Palin actually has a head on here shoulders unlike you people who get amusement from such a sick disgusting jokes!

Who cares – the problem is our 24/7 media that gives any credibility at all to someone like Sarah Palin. The embarrassment is that someone of her ilk is given serious consideration as a presidential candidate. We should be worrying about the state of our country, not some comedians tasteless remarks. As I always say – if you don’t like it, turn off the tv. Too much television watching has turned us into the nation of idiots that thinks that a Sarah Palin could be president.

I have made it clear in various posts I think there is a vast difference between a blogger and journalist. I am a blogger here.

But let me take this post and my arguements step by step.

Listen to the Letterman joke then…..

Read the Palin press release….

Since there was no mention of the 14 year old in the joke….

But there was mention of the 14 year old in the press release…..

Then one has to assume what the title of my blog post suggests…..

Since…….

Palin’s statement assumes Letterman was referring to the governor’s 14-year-old and not her older unmarried daughter who recently gave birth to a son.

I wonder why there was the huge uproar about what Imus said and not letterman’s comments. Perhaps it is because arfican american women are a protected class according to liberals whereas conservatives are not.

Further, the title of your post is very suggestive since in the article you link to there is no discussion or hint from the mother that her young daughter is naything but chaste. Your title exploits with the suggestion of sex. Considering your journalistic background, I’ll assume that was deliberate. Darw in readers with insinuation. Nice.

Well, the Obama girls–pictured as props so often during the campaign–are just about old enough for the smear mill. I’m glad you’ll be there to defend whatever conservative makes a joke of them.
