FBI Spokesman: We’re Not Investigating Palin
Reporters and bloggers will keep an eye on this matter.
As of now, however, this is the latest.
If this is the truth then more digging will be required to better understand why the unprofessional news conference by Sarah Palin was held last week. There has to be a reason for her actions.
The FBI, in a rare response to rampant rumors on the Internet, said it is not investigating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on public corruption charges.
Normally, we don’t confirm or deny those kind of allegations out there. But, by not doing so, it just casts her in a very bad light,” said FBI Special Agent Eric Gonzalez, who confirmed for CNN the statement he made to the Anchorage Daily News. “There is just no truth to those rumors out there in the blogosphere.”
Gonzalez told The Los Angeles Times that there was “no wiggle room” in his comments for any kind of inquiry.
The speculation began almost immediately after Palin’s unexpected announcement on Friday that she would step down as Alaska’s chief executive with 18 months left in her term.

I’m sure she has plenty of reasons, like all of the television and book offers she has been getting now that she is the darling of the wingnuts. She can make a fortune without having to do any hard work. Or, she can continue to work full-time at the unglamorous job of being Alaska’s Governor while paying legal fees for the ethics cases against her. I’m amazed she waited this long to resign.
