Gunmen Kills Four Sheriff’s Deputies In Washington State
UPDATE
The Tacoma News Tribune has the latest updates, including a description of a suspect. “Witnesses described the killer as a black man, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9, in his 20s or 30s, with scruffy facial hair and wearing a black coat and blue jeans.”
UPDATE: Seattlepi.com reports the victims, all officers of the Lakewood Police Department, were three men and one woman.
More tragic and preventable news from the world of guns, and gun-owners.
This time it is in Washington State. Four sheriff’s deputies are slain. More families in grief. More coffins to buy. The need for gun rights is an outdated notion for the gun-slinging west that was only ever popular in by-gone movies. The real world of guns is only madness and carnage. When will the American people wake up?
Four sheriff’s deputies were fatally shot Sunday in what police described as an ambush in a coffee shop near Seattle.
The Pierce County deputies were sitting in the coffee shop in Lakewood, Washington, before the start of their shifts, reading on their computers, when the shooting occurred, said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Ed Troyer.
Lakewood is about 40 miles south of Seattle and 10 miles southwest of Tacoma.
