Will Democrats Understand Reason For Poll Numbers?
January 25, 2010
There are polls showing the nation is not holding the Democratic Party in high regard these days. Democratic members of Congress are in trouble. I think that is clear. Therefore, I pose the following questions nearly 10 months before the mid-term elections.
Are voters upset over the actual health reform bill that Congress has talked and talked and talked about only to apparently decide too cumbersome to finish? Or are the voters just fed up with the inability of this Democratic Congress to finalize a health care package and get the job completed? Might the public be fed up with a Congress over the failure to do the big things that they were sent to Washington to achieve?

Seems like there are only two questions here (one and two are repetitive). To answer: Americans think the Deomcratic proposals will raise costs, decrease quality of care, and strip them of choices. They are also furious that Reid and Pelosi have been so openly buying and selling votes with taxpayers’ money.
As for the second question: America waites for the “most ethical” and “transparent” congress they were promised. Until then, they don’t want anything “big” from Washington.
Why choose? A vast number of Americans were and are dead-set against the “omnibus health insurance reconstruction bill” and another large group mostly made up the further left wing of the liberals is royally pissed off that the Dems wouldn’t just ram it through since they had a super-majority.
…And then there’s the Leftists who just wanted to punish Conservatives and the GOP.
…And then there are the far Right wing of the Conservatives who would hate anything that the Dems did.
So no, if one is going to speak of the public in a monolithic sense, I don’t that public is angry solely because they’re fed up with a Congress over the failure to do the big things that they were sent to Washington to achieve.
