Government Needs To Better Track Right-Wing Extremists

February 18, 2010

America can really be an ugly place.  The violent act from a right-wing anti-government extremest in Austin makes that very clear.

Remember last year when the Justice Department warned the nation that extremists in some cases were hell-bent on death and destruction.  Those right-wing fanatics will spin themselves as the ones trying to save the country from ’socialism’, and pretend to be the keepers of ‘our heritage’.  In fact, as Homeland Security notes they are “lone wolves and small terrorist cells” intent on death and mayhem.

After the violence today in Austin, and the news this evening of a Facebook page dedicated to hero-worship of  Joseph Andrew Stack, there is every reason for the nation to step up the vigilance against these dangerous people.   The United States government must gather more information on these elements.  I know the vast majority of the nation finds the action today in Austin of Stack to be disgusting, and an act of terrorism.  As such I want my government to work hard to prevent these types of violence from being repeated.

    Agree with FG.

There is plenty of surveillance against armed ideology in the US. Right, left, drugs, you name it. This man would never have tripped any wires that could be set.

Worshipping any person should possibly be cause for investigation. Reagan, Beck,Palin, Obama, Jon Stewart, Molly Cyris, Deke, etc. (wink)

The guy in Austin seemed mad at everybody left, right and in between. Where did he come off as a right wing extremist?

Would the lady who shot three of her fellow teachers last week because she didn’t get tenure be considered a left wing extremist because she worshipped Obama?
