Mulch The Winter Look Away With The City Of Madison’s Help
One may want to say their flower beds look like a breath of spring, but if one is more honest will say they look like the end of a long hard winter. Except for the very early spring blooms that are dotting our flower beds the rest looks gloomy. There in the beds is brown leftover leaves and plant debris in spite of our best efforts to have removed everything last fall before the winter snows. Lets face it. It looks awful. But there is a remedy that will not only make things look better now, but make your summer plants happy and perky even on the hottest August day.
With the City of Madison’s help you can mulch the winter look away for FREE! As one who has used this service for three years I can attest to the ease of getting the mulch, and the reliability of not having any problems with it. A great friend with a pick-up truck gets multiple loads for our flower beds at the Olin Avenue location. They even load trucks for you! With the fantastic aroma of the pine chips you will find neighbors dropping by and wanting some too. So follow what we do and get an extra amount to give away. Also mound a container like an unused compost bin in the back with extra mulch for the future plantings this season. They will be happy to have it placed around them, and pleased that moisture is retained on those dry days in summer. Plus it looks great to have things mulched.
We mulched on Monday and the city was making a mountain of it…so go get yours today.
Here are the details you will need. (P.S. Thanks to Minnie Pearl for the opening line of my post. She used it in a different way, but it still works.)
