Bob Woodward Is 67 Today
When I was a boy there were two reporters that made me take notice as they were in the news daily, (or so it seemed) while undertaking what I thought was an adventurous role. As reporters they were at the center of the political explosion of Watergate. Bob Woodward along with his Washington Post colleague Carl Bernstein cracked the White House of President Nixon into pieces that the nation could better understand. They were young intrepid reporters and made many younger people, such as myself, think about the journalism route.
Today one of the team, Bob Woodward, turns 67. That is just hard to believe. While Woodward remains a strong reporter and writer and turns out some great books, (a small Washington industry all himself) there are those images stuck in my mind from the Watergate period that keep him somewhat frozen in time. I love to see his analysis on the news shows, and know he has aged well over the years, but there is no way to think of him as 67! For me there is only one way to think of him. At the start when we all got to know him.
