Rules For Wearing Magical Mormon Underwear
For whatever reason everyday there is a stream of people who visit my blog to see and read about Mitt Romney’s underwear. A number of them comment, and go back and forth on the religious practice. I should mention that most stop here not so much for Romney’s underwear per se, but instead for the fact as a Mormon he has some interesting religious practices that people want to know more about. As the owner of this blog I see the word choices that people search for prior to landing on CP. It just amazes me that Mormon underwear is as fascinating as it seems to be to so many.
I am in no way meaning to be disrespectful to the Mormons. While I think the religion has some cult-like leanings I am more interested in the customs for informative purposes than to smirk. After all there are many religions that have strange quirks. Catholics literally divide and parcel out pieces of ‘saints’ throughout the Christian world in order to spread the goodness of that person. Mother Teresa’s bones are even in competition for a place to be located. Lets face it, there is plenty to ponder when it comes to religion.
I think the Mormon underwear matter is akin to telling young kids that they can never have a beer. The very fact they are forbidden to have one means they are more hell-bent to see what the fuss is all about inside the can. The same is true for the Mormon’s and the matter of the magical underwear. If there were not such secrecy over the matter there would be less humor and interest in it. But since there are lots of questions about this topic here are a few facts about the ‘unmentionables’.

What are the rules for washing these garments? Do men wash their own garments?
I like this post. It is one of the few that really deals with an issue without being rude.
However, they are called “garments” not underwear. While the terms are synonomous, the term underwear doesn’t sound very good.
Just thought I would mention one other thing concerning the Garments. The LDS church equates them with the sacred Garments made for Aaron and his sons when they were made priests at the time of Moses.
