Robert Dunn And The Price Of A Very Bad Edgewater Plan

July 25, 2010

Robert Dunn should know better.  He went public over being upset that some people are challenging the Edgewater plan in court.  Does it surprise him that this is the route Americans take when they get screwed without even a kiss?  Robert Dunn’s reaction of wawww, wawww to the Wisconsin State Journal smacks of being childlike.  Dunn seems to forget that he is not popular and his idea for the Edgewater has no real fan base.  (Other than Major Dave.)   There are a lot of peeved people through-out the city over the whole tortured process that played out to a most dreadful conclusion.  Many support the folks who live in the Mansion Hill area who are seeking a legal remedy to the process that allowed a monster of a building in their backyard.  The cozy deal struck with Dunn and the City Of Madison may make the powers in city hall happy.  It certainly makes Dunn and the bankers happy.  But take notice of the tax-payers and voters in the coffee shops and political chats around town and it becomes clear that his whole issue stinks.

So, yes there are many in agreement with the lawsuit seeking to overturn the City Council’s approval of this plan.  Many stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the folks on Mansion Hill, and agree with the words of  Ald. Mike Verveer, who represents the area next to the site.  He correctly voted against the project.

“I’m not going to criticize my constituents’ right to have a court review the council’s actions. I think a lot of my Downtown constituents and folks throughout the city would be disappointed if this opportunity is not taken.”

Damn straight!
