Brett Favre Fails To Address Penis Pics Sent To Jennifer Sterger As Vikings Prepare To Play Packers
One has to hope on Sunday night that the Green Bay Packers will clean the clock of Brett Favre……and on national television to top it off. Any other game and I would not care. At all. But Favre needs to be trounced in Green Bay. This episode of the penis pictures is not the type of behavior that we should expect from someone who is termed ‘a hero’ by too many impressionable young boys. The act against Jennifer Sterger was sexist, and the NFL League needs to deal with the matter sooner rather than later. The fact that Favre can’t even talk about it shows that he is ‘lawyered up’ and has no self-defense of his own to stand on.
Speaking on a conference call with Wisconsin reporters in Green Bay in advance of Sunday night’s showdown between his current and former teams, Favre repeatedly called the NFL’s investigation into his alleged advances toward then-Jets in-game host Jennifer Sterger a “league matter.”
“It’s a league issue. Let’s just leave it at that,” Favre replied when asked how his Tuesday meeting with NFL vice president for security Milt Ahlerich went.
Asked if he is embarrassed by the fact that people are talking about the situation scandal, which broke on the website Deadspin.com, Favre reiterated, “Again, that’s a league issue and, as I’ve said, my focus is on the next opponent and obviously that’s Green Bay. It’s a … It’s a … As I said the other night, I’m reluctant to say I’m excited about coming back. … My focus is on Green Bay, as it was on Dallas last week and the Jets prior to that. My focus has never wavered one bit.”
Minutes later, Favre also refused to answer questions about the situation in his weekly Wednesday news conference with Twin Cities reporters.
Asked by a Minnesota reported why he hasn’t denied the allegations, Favre said: “The one thing I’m going to say is that’s something that’s within the league, and I’ll just have to leave it at that – let that process work itself out.”
Sterger has hired lawyers but has not commented on the allegations, as attorney Joseph Conway said Wednesday his firm will advise Sterger “and pursue any potential remedies that may exist.” He confirmed being contacted by the NFL, but said nothing had been decided on a possible meeting between Sterger and the league. Sterger, one of the hosts of the Versus network’s “The Daily Line,” has thusfar been unwilling to cooperate with NFL investigators, and her manager, Phil Reese, said she hasn’t had any discussions with Favre representatives about a possible financial settlement stemming from the allegations.
Asked if his meeting with Ahlerich left him more or less concerned about the situation, Favre stuck to his same statement.
“Once again, that’s a league issue, and I’ll say it again — my focus is solely on Green Bay,” he said. “And that’s where it’s going to stay.”
