Twitter, Osama Bin Laden Death, And America Baseball

There are so many spokes to the story concerning the death of Osama bin Laden.  This one that crossed my radar moments ago amuses me about the use of new technology, and the way we now get information.

In the midst of a baseball game Twitter and texting made for quite a moment as word spread that bin Laden was dead.

Just about everyone in America tonight was glued to cable news, awaiting confirmation of Osama bin Laden‘s death from President Obama.

Everyone, that is, but the spectators at the Phillies-Mets game in Philadelphia.

As news of bin Laden’s apparent death spread across Twitter and through text messages, the entire stadium — in a goosebumps moment for the ages — began to chant “USA! USA!”

Meanwhile, the players on the field and in the dugouts looked around at each other quizzically, wondering what the heck the crazy Philly fans were up to now.
