Herman Cain Like Simpsons Character With “We Need a Leader, Not a Reader”
GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain said on Thursday that he doesn’t need to know all the “details about foreign policy to be a good commander-in-chief.”
Why do more and more of the conservative movement rally towards dumb candidates and politicians?
What is wrong with being smart? And does the nation not need the smart ones in charge?
At a dinner party do people not like to gravitate towards the smart ones in the room?
So how is it that the Tea Party types likes to gather around the village idiot?
This is one of the most telling moments about Herman Cain, and also about the Tea Party that I have described as woefully uninformed about almost everything.
“Who knows every detail of every country of every situation on the planet?” Cain asked the crowd. “Nobody! A leader is supposed to make sure we work on the right problems, we’re assigned the right priorities. Surround yourself with good people, put together plans and lead. We’ve got plenty of experts, and a leader knows how to use those experts. We need a leader, not a reader.”
This is all very similar to a moment from the Simpsons when California’s former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was part of a political parody on the show.
