Video: ‘Baby’ Hawk Flies From Nest At UW-Madison

May 30, 2012

Update–The chick that flew off this morning–or was lifted off–has returned this evening.  All three are back on the ledge nest.

Readers to this blog have noted the widget for the red-tail hawk nest located on the blog for the past seven weeks.  It has been quite an exciting event to watch unfold.

This morning one of the eyasses (chicks)  took off.   But to me it looked like the wind surprised it and lifted the young one up unexpectedly.

I hear that he’s on the roof of Weeks Hall trying to figure out how to get somewhere else.
