Read What Is More Appalling Than Todd Akin’s Remark–Be Prepared To Gag Over Sharon Barnes
There is no way–just NO WAY–to make this crazy stuff up.
While reading The New York Times concerning the Todd Akin story I found the following, and went numb. This is so bizarre it does not even allow words to match for a reply.
While Republicans at the national level were in a hurry to shove him aside, Republican opinion had not hardened against Mr. Akin in Missouri, in part because of the salience of the abortion issue. “The congressman is totally, firmly, solidly pro-life,” Sharon Barnes, a member of the state Republican central committee, said, adding that Mr. Akin believed “that abortion is never an option.”
Ms. Barnes echoed Mr. Akin’s statement that very few rapes resulted in pregnancy, adding that “at that point, if God has chosen to bless this person with a life, you don’t kill it.”
You have to be ape-crap crazy to make such a statement.
There is no way that God is thinking that a blessing might come from the result of a brutal and violent rape.
What is wrong with the conservatives in this nation? Clearly they are far adrift from reality. They need to be stomped into the ground on Election Day.

While it is true that Barnes’ comment is stupid, it is equally stupid for you to pretend to know what God is “thinking.” All we might “know” is that life emerges as order from chaos.
This being said, Mr. Akin’s comments deserve the scorn and ridiclue they receive.
