Election Night 1960 With NBC News

This blog is taking a fast look back at Election Nights in America since 1948, when television started covering the national balloting.  The first coverage from NBC took place in 1948, and was really a most remarkable broadcasting event.

1960 was remarkable for the personalities involved, and the heightened awareness of how television could be used to focus the attention of the electorate on the campaigns.  1960 was the first year for presidential debates.
