Gay Couple From Wisconsin Win ‘Amazing Race’
I do not watch ‘Amazing Race’, or care for reality television.
But this did catch my attention.
For the second consecutive year, someone with Wisconsin ties won “The Amazing Race.”
Josh Kilmer-Purcell, who was raised in Oconomowoc, and his partner, Brent Ridge, won the $1 million competition in which multiple teams of two race around the world completing arduous tasks.
The pair, who also star on “The Fabulous Beekman Boys,” about two gay men who leave New York City to become farmers, were considered among the weakest teams.
But they finally pulled ahead on the final task, which required more brains than brawn, and in which the final three teams needed to know the greetings and farewells in the languages of the countries they visited. The pair are authors of “The Beekman 1802 Heirloom Cookbook.”
