Charles Francis Adams And The Newtown School Shooting
Who does not have their mind this weekend on a kindergarten classroom in Connecticut?
I was reading this afternoon Team Of Rivals and came across a line written by Charles Francis Adams as the Civil War had started in the early months of 1861.
What he penned was meant to show the issue of slavery was compromised at the dawn of this nation, and that created the roots of the war that would lead to over 600,000 casualties.
As I read the following it was not possible to think of the compromises and give-a-ways to the National Rifle Association from our politicians which allows for the bloodshed that our nation sustains every year from handguns.
“We the children of the third and fourth generations are doomed to the pay the penalties of the compromises made by the first.”
We need to ponder these things.
There is a better path forward, and I urge some consideration to the following steps for gun control.

Is this a part of the Lincoln story I am not aware of?
Are you going to post the slasher story ?
