How this nugget escaped my attention until today shows that everything else in life is more important than Alan Keyes. He joined others seeking the Republican nomination because, in his words, “there isn’t a standout,” and therefore his entry was essential. I had no idea that the GOP was in such condition that it required Keyes to save it. (Does the GOP know this?) Considering that he claims to be opposed to drug use, one has to wonder what makes him think such a thing since he will only be a nuisance on the stage during any debate. And we all know the only thing America really needs is yet another podium with another constipated conservative railing against everything during these GOP debates.
Keyes proved he was nothing more than a media whore during his absolutely insane race for Illinois Senator in 2004. The fact that even the GOP was shunning him and wishing the embarrassment that he created would just leave the home of Lincoln is more than anyone needs to know about this blowhard. In addition to seeking the White House twice before (you recall his terms in office?) he also was body slammed by the voters twice in Maryland when he sought a U.S. Senate seat. He just seems to travel to the next vacant seat in America and starts harping on issues. It seems everyone is aware what Alan Keyes really is, except the man himself.
The only reason that Keyes gets into these races is to taste the fleeting moments of fame that come with the media stories. He is nothing but a media whore with a message that does not resonate due to the despicable messenger.
Keyes wants everyone to think that God leads his life. But I think Keyes might listen a bit harder to the message from above and seek another path. Public office is not in the cards. God is not so angry with us that he would allow Keyes any real power.

CAFFEINATED POLITICS 
Alan Keyes running for President?? I would presume he is trying to be a Latter-Day Pat Paulsen.
I think God is SO angry with us that He wouldn’t permit a God-fearing man such as Alan Keyes to rule our country right now. Hilary’s gonna get in, and then we’ll all realize what we really need. It doesn’t matter if the guy is black or white or hispanic or anything, as long as he is a Christian. You know what you have to do? Look up the guy’s records, views, and history, and then write another post with a more intelligent argument.
I follow politics, and know all too well the vile man that is Alan Keyes. The best I could ever say about him was already posted above.
Second, there is NO reason a President need be Christian. Where would you come up with that idea? Have we not paid enough taxes to insure that our schools teach history and civics?
I am constantly surprised by individuals who, otherwise, sound inteligent, but then come out with some of the most ludicrous comments.
Allan Keyes is talking about real issues of fact where the constitution and God in the classroom are concerned and the best most liberals can do is come off with some tired dance around the facts still hopeing to distract and scare the uneducated.
If anyone would look into the evidence of the moral and ‘rule of law’ decay in this government, one might see the need to be real radical to save this great nation from the inepts who seem to make the most noise.
We need Alan Keyes
At the risk of causing a debate, I would like to make a note of dekeriver’s and ferrel gummit’s comments which make my point so well.
They both would like you to take their assesment of Mr. Keyes and politics,in general, at face value since they sound like they know something of which they speak. However, in fact neither of them sounds as if they acually looked at his website and discover for themselves who he is and what he stands for.
Bear in mind Keyes point of view is consistant with the majority of christian americans who understand what has made this country what it is and what we are loseing. It is far too complicated for those of a more liberal bend and probably scares them since they operate on feelings more than facts.

A platform of homophobia will carry him into obscurity. Which he deserves! Or did I miss his high vote totals in the states that have voted thus far for a nominee? Did I miss him on stage this week as Super Tuesday approaches. They even let Ron Paul on stage! But Alan ‘Rent A Candidate” Keyes was no where to be seen. He made such an ass of himself in the Illinois Senate race. Living in Wisconsin, and hearing WGN news everyday during that race I can assure my readers it was a hoot!
So when the GOP is ashamed of him it is because Alan Keyes speaks for no one. And is supported by no one. Except perhaps the infamous “Rev” Phelps.
