Don Imus: Lest We Forget

My Don Imus post from yesterday had a rather high number of readers, and  several thoughtful comments.  But I feel it important to remind everyone who Don Imus really is.

In March 2007 during just four minutes of air time Don Imus and his producer laughed at ‘beating up faggots’, knocking over Jewish tombstones, setting ‘homeless bums’ on fire, coarsely talking about Anderson Cooper’s sex life, calling Obama a ‘colored man’, wishing that some sissy on “American Idol” would be the victim of a hate crime, and making a nasty comment about Rosie O’Donnell’s private parts.  This all falls under the guise of broadcast ‘entertainment’ on our radio in 2007!

Cooper has a sex life, that is a surprise and Rosie well she deserves everything she gets. As for the IMAN at least he his honest about who he is unlike the phonies on NPR radio who have a far left agenda but yet pretend they are giving a balanced agenda.

You know it’s interesting you never blogged about Jamie Foxx’s rants about Miley Cyrus?? Why?

Speaking as a father of a beautiful young girl, if I were Billy Ray I would have smashed Jamie Foxx into the wall for those comments – African American or not.

But hey, it was an African American man insulting a white girl and dad – he was just being a little sensitive. It only matters when it is a white guy insulting African-Americans or gays.

    1. I will be the first to admit that I am not up-to-date on pop culture. I still listen to Frank and Sammy for relaxation. I have never been ‘current’. Even in high school I was more tuned to other things. So it was not until just a few weeks ago that I even found out that there was a Miley Cyrus. She has a film out. (I do love film, and keep current with new releases, and this how she came to my attention.) To blow me away I found out she is the daughter of Billy Ray. My nephew Troy and I attended one of his concerts many years ago in Madison, and Troy touched Billy Ray’s hair after the show…but that is another story.

Now as to the Jamie Foxx matter, I am not sure of what you are referring to. If it is not in the Times or the Journal I very well may miss the story. There is just so much to follow and read that I keep up to date with what interests me, and pay little attention to the other stuff.

But my views about radio are well known here on the blog, and if you want to insert a name of a jerk who used the air-waves….which it seems you infer… a manner I think rots….then insert a name and know I agree.

But to the issue of Foxx etc.I really have no knowledge.
