Roland Burris Has Re-Election Web Site

March 2, 2009

Ignoring calls for his resignation, Senator Roland Burris on Monday launched a campaign re-election Web site.

The Illinois senator’s camp confirmed to POLITICO that the site is in fact Burris’ official re-election campaign site, despite the fact that it is mostly empty of content and that the phone number listed under the contact information connects to the senator’s consulting firm.

While the site remains devoid of any information on the senator’s positions, legislation or press releases, it does include a biography and a functioning donation button.

The senator’s bio mentions that he was appointed by Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D-Ill.) but does not make any reference to the controversy surrounding the appointment.

Bad News. Yesterday, Governor Pat Quinn and Senator Dickie Durbin said they are going to stop pushing for Senator Burris’ resignation. In other words, Burris is probably there until 2010.

In 2010, it’s Turkey Shooting time at the Dems corral for the Senate seat.

PS: Like the new design of the blog.

    Climb off your high.

There is NO way…none…that he gets nominated….one has to have votes to get the nomination after all.

That’s right Roland believe that you can be reelected in 2010. Then get the Dem nomination. Then watch as the office is swiped by the GOP by a bigger margin of votes than when Ronald Reagan slaughtered Walter Mondale in 1984.

To quote the rock band Journey “Don’t Stop Believin'”

Thanks for helping the GOP out.

    We like you.
