Wisconsin Democratic Elected Officials Do Right Thing With Domestic Partnerships

June 18, 2009

Consider this.

If domestic partnerships become law, Wisconsin would be the first state with an existing constitutional amendment banning both same-sex marriage and civil unions to provide domestic partnership protections for same-sex couples.

Both the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate have now passed their respective versions of the state budget.  Some form of conference committee will reconcile the differences, but one thing seems clear, and that is domestic partnerships will remain.

Take that Julaine Appling!
