AUDIO: Keith Bilbrey, Former WSM Grand Ole Opry Announcer, Talks About Nashville Floods And Country Music
This is not the first time that Keith Bilbrey has made it on Caffeinated Politics. Bilbrey was the announcer’s voice for decades of the world-famous Grand Ole Opry before he was fired so the current management of WSM radio could make radio less personal and less local. I was outraged at this as any common-sense radio listener, and Opry fan would be. In fact, my postings on Keith Bilbrey was so well received that it placed my thoughts at #2 and #3 when one does a Google search for ‘Keith Bilbrey’. I was very honored to have had Keith comment on one of the postings. I am proud of that as the Opry and the folks who love it are always carried with me in my heart.
Last night Keith Bilbrey was interviewed at length on WGN radio (AM720) by the truly awesome team of Steve and Johnnie on their late-night talk show. Keith Bilbrey is an institution, and if you want to hear one of the good-guys who cares about radio, the Opry, and country music then this interview is for you.
