Honorary Co-Chairman Of David Prosser’s Campaign Resigns

Oh my!  One can almost feel Prosser want to call someone a nasty name.

Former Democratic Gov. Patrick Lucey is withdrawing his support for incumbent Justice David Prosser for Wisconsin Supreme Court and is throwing it to Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg.

Lucey released a statement to the media Thursday evening saying the campaign has revealed what he called “a disturbing distemper and lack of civility” in Prosser, though he did not cite specifics.

“I have followed with increasing dismay and now alarm the campaign of Justice David Prosser, whom I endorsed at the outset of his campaign and in whose campaign I serve as the honorary co-chairman,” Lucey said in the statement. “I can no longer in good conscience lend my name and support to Justice Prosser’s candidacy. Too much has come to light that Justice Prosser has lost that most crucial of characteristics for a Supreme Court Justice — as for any judge — even-handed impartiality. Along with that failing has come a disturbing distemper and lack of civility that does not bode well for the High Court in the face of demands that are sure to be placed on it in these times of great political and legal volatility.”

I just saw a Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce ad on TV. I don’t think they could have edited Kloppenburg’s clips more tightly to imply she’s pro-crime. NOT TRUE Slimebags. THEN, they give the DOJ number and tell people to call her there, so, much like David Prosser, and Scott Jensen, they must think it’s okay to use government facilities to register political activities. I instead, called WMC at 608.258.3400, and after saying Shame Shame! was transferred to Jim Pugh’s (slimeball in chief of communications) cellphone. I encourage everyone to do the same and let them know what they think, especially the balance of today, monday and tuesday. on the weekend, i assume you can leave a voice mail.

I just called WMC and actually talked with Jim Haney. I asked him if he was proud of his ad, his response, “well, she said those words.” I asked if they could have been edited more tightly or more misleadingly. I said he was known as a fair person in the past, and what happened. He finally said “get a life” and hung up on me. Hope he’s proud of today’s Wisconsin. Locked doors at the capitol, communities torn apart, race to the bottom, and Wississippi is “UP FOR SALE” phone number for WMC is 608.258.3400
