Pham-Remmele, 20th District, who tangled with the mayor and over four years became isolated in the council, expressed gratitude but declined her ceremonial plaque before leaving, saying, “please keep it. I have no place for it in my life.”
And thankfully no one has a place for Pham-Remmele in Madison’s government.
Pham-Remmele proved to be one of the most cantankerous and difficult members of the Madison City Council. Most everyone welcomed her decision not to seek reelection. While the issues Pham-Remmele brought up had merit at times, the manner in how she addressed them, and the way she abused the process made her time on the council a joke far too often.
