BREAKING: Mike Huckabee Not Running For White House In 2012

May 14, 2011

Not running: Former GOP Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, at end of his Fox News show, says ‘my heart says no’ to presidential bid.
At the end of the day, it came down to money.  Not how much it would cost to run a race for the White House, but how much money Huckabee would no longer rake in from using his political position for personal gain.  That is not how the process should be used.  But both Huckabee and Sarah Palin, among others, have found a way to marshal their political teasing game into something very financially lucrative.
All the factors say go,” Huckabee said during a live, final segment of his eponymous Fox News Channel show. “But my heart says no.”

Huckabee noted that while all of the “external” factors pointed toward him running, he only found an “inexplicable inner peace” when he decided not to enter the race.

You did exactly what he said you would- with typical cynical disbelief. No one can know another’s heart or true motives including Huckabee’s, but I do know this: if you have never known what it is like to have God fill your heart with His peace that can not be explained, then you will not believe. Imagine for a moment, it might be possible to feel something that can only be explained with supernatural language. You will only recoil at that if it makes you afraid-afraid that there is something out there that is more important than anything else and you don’t know how to have it for yourself or even understand it; afraid that if you do receive it for yourself, others will make fun of you the way you have of others.

I think he was very brave to be so up front about his beliefs. While everyone is using political correct language (i.e. “his a ‘man of faith!'”), Huckabee says, “Jesus Christ.” Yes, he did- no, he really did-out loud.
