Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald Provides Most Hypocritical Comment Of The Week

June 27, 2011

I have come to learn that it is best to have a clear esophageal tract whenever reading anything about Wisconsin’s Fitzgerald brothers.

When it comes to Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald or Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald there is just no telling what whopper they will spout that might leave the average reader revolted to the point of choking.

Such was the case this weekend with a comment made by Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald.

Ponder this one…without food in your mouth.

Scott Fitzgerald is still perturbed by the welcome the Democrats received from adoring crowds when they returned to the Capitol.

“I was sick to my stomach when I picked up the paper on that Sunday morning and saw they were given a hero’s welcome here on the (Capitol) Square,” he says. “I was sick to my stomach. I think what they don’t understand, maybe they’ll never understand, is that they trashed the institution of the state Senate. We have a Senate policy manual, Senate rules, statutes and a constitution. I’ve been lectured since the first day I was elected that that’s how this body has been run. That we live and die by the rules.”

The last line of his statement rings absurd for those who have followed the antics of the Republicans in the Wisconsin Statehouse as they plotted and devised a series of partisan maneuvers to force collective bargaining changes through the legislature.

The violations of the open meetings law is but example of the excesses that took place at a time when Scott Fitzgerald claims to have been living and dying by the rules.

Give me a break!

Do the Fitzgerald brothers really belive that what they say is going to be consumed at face value?

Many residents of this state were very much engaged and alert to the theatrics and out-right sham of policy making that took place earlier this year.

We will not forget.

I agree….what type of folks go to the polls and think that either of the Fitz boys are able candidates for elected office!

That the Fitzgerald “Boys” would offer ANY snotty comments about the embarrassing tragedy at the Wisconsin Supreme Court is mindboggling! Their smorgasbord approach to the laws they choose to obey combined with their stunning lack of ethical behavior has done more to undermine Wisconsin government than any other politician — with the lone exception of Scott Walker, the Ultimate Power Power-grabber. When they clean up their own house, then and only then will they have the “right” to offer a commentary on the State Supreme Court. All of this would make for one heck of a “South Park” episode — except it’s part of the actual nightmare citizens of the Badger State must live through. Relief will come only when these Tea Party sleazeballs are removed from office.

What’s particularly insulting about the latest Fitzgerald “rhetoric” is the ease with which workplace violence has been pushed aside in order to secure the latest 30-second sound bite. Nothing like deflecting attention from his own ethic-challenged behavior….

It might be time to start recall proceedings against Prosser and his fellow embarrassments Annette Ziegler and Michael Gabelman. As for the Fitzgerald “Boys”? Wisconsinites should be frightened that there are voters in this state who elected Tweedle Scott and Tweedle Jeff to the Legislature.
