Obscene=M & I Bank Tyme Machine Fees

July 6, 2011

After our work was done at the Dane County Courthouse today James and I wandered about at the Wednesday Farmers’ Market.  Spotting more than one thing that needed to go home with us (yellow summer squash!) I said we needed to go to a tyme machine.  We walked to one and I punched all the numbers that were required.  It was then this message appeared on the M & I tyme machine.

“Do you wish to continue with this transaction for a $5.00 processing fee?”

I was seeking $20.00!

M & I wanted a fourth for a processing fee!

Meanwhile at my credit union tyme machine that was only two blocks away I get my money for free….and if one is not a member would have only been charged $1.50.

Not sure if M & I believes they have more crisp denominations, or it they hope to get more money to fund their hideous Republican allies, but NO ONE gets a $5.oo processing fee from me.

(Are these machines still tax exempt….I know at one time they were…just asking….there are ways to fill the budget gap.)

Meanwhile I can report that steamed summer squash and lots of butter makes for a perfect lunch item.

    Not that it matters that much but Harris Bank bought out M&I a couple of months ago. The deal is supposed to close in the 4th quarter this year.

    Don’t worry Harris Bank is good at charging obnoxious fees as well any other bank.

    Enjoy the credit unions while you can! With the help of Walker and the GOP legislature, the banks are out to destroy them.
