Poetry Comes To Madison Sidewalks

I had hoped poetry might come to Madison sidewalks.

This blog had advocated for the poetry, and also asked for donations for the cause.  This weekend while walking down Williamson Street I saw one of the works in front of the  Weary Traveler, 1201 Williamson St.    As a side note the restaurant has the best Dijon Chicken and real mashed potatoes to be had anywhere in Madison.

Now it has a perfect poem pressed into the sidewalk in front of their business.

Southern Love
by Fabu

I want love
to be like a good pot of greens
pick the tenderest parts
separate from the hard stem
wash gently and thoroughly
removing every bit of dirt and grime
rinsing over and over and over
with the clear clean water of forgiveness
Season with savory meat, herbs and spices
and then simmer, simmer, simmer.
