At a campaign stop in Sioux City, Iowa on Sunday, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum singled out blacks as being recipients of assistance through federal benefit programs, telling a mostly-white audience he doesn’t want to “make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money.”
He added: “I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money; I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money.”

You white folks have to stop being in denial due to shame. We know (black folks) know you’re on welfare too. We know you get food stamps too. I live with a white family and one of the ladies is on food stamps.

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for… another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
But that is what your man Obama is doing to all of us as we speak every 40 minutes he adds $1 more to working taxpayers debt to the government.
And to your “Didn’t the Bush family steal the United States Treasury of enough money??” comment, that is same tired old Liberal line that goes hand in hand with “Blame Bush”. Can you prove that please? The Government takes in $6 billion a day but spends $10 billion under Obama. My kids and grandkids are going pay off the Obama debt in the form of high taxes taken out of their paychecks when they start working.
Now I ask you whom is really looting the treasury?
It used to be that there was “shame” in needing assistance. People once believed they were responsible for their own lives and the lives of their family. And while we do live in a country that is giving and able to help, it increasingly seems like the takers who want more of us to “get with the program”–and take like they take–spit in the face of a generous nation. Linda might be right that there is no shame anymore, sadly, but does she realize that there is no pride either? Pride comes only from doing and achieving. People addicted to the handout must live without pride in an empty limbo.
