Dennis Kucinich And Your Blogger

March 6, 2012

Ohio Rep. Marcy Kaptur defeated fellow Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich in the  9th District, a loss that will likely bring the longtime liberal congressman’s Capitol Hill career to an end.

In 2004 James and I were delegates to the Wisconsin State Democratic Convention.  It was there I met  Dennis Kucinich, and got my chance to chat with him.  A photo was taken with the progressive Democratic member of Congress, and presidential candidate.

Since this is the end–I suspect–of his storied political career I think it time to unearth this picture.

Those who know me well, know I love to talk.  (That is one reason broadcasting was a perfect fit for a period of my life.)  During the taking of the picture I kept telling the candidate what I felt he needed to know as the camera did its work.  That explains why only one of us is smiling…….

I’ll bet Dennis Kucinich re emerges as a lobbyist.
Mr. Kucinich has the inside track. He knows everybody.

That’s a cool picture Deke, hummm I see that “your need to speak has over come your need to listen”. But who can blame you? Here is a chance to speak with an elected official. I would be thrilled myself if I was speaking to one of my reparsentivies in Congress too.

The outcome of Jean Schmidt’s unexpectedly lost coupled with Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s defeat to Ohio Rep. Marcy Kaptur is that now Marcy Kaptur will face off against ‘Joe the Plumber’, Samuel Wurzelbacher.

I suspect this is an up hill fight for ‘Joe’. It’s a Democratic area.

Political careers don’t end when they are born of intelligent patriotism.
Dennis’ intelligence and commitment are vitally alive and well. His energy and imagination are boundless.
