State Senator Glenn Grothman Makes Ass Of Self (Again): Uses Ann Coulter As Source For Stating There Is No Wage Gap Between Sexes

April 9, 2012

If you are going to be an ass in public, go all the way.

As in the case of Wisconsin Republican State Senator Glenn Grothman.

Not only does Grothman claim there is no wage gap between the sexes, but states he uses Ann Coulter as his source for coming to such a conclusion.

Would you really make that statement in public?     Seriously——really?!

That would be like saying we should follow the advice of the doctors who treated President Garfield by inserting dirty unwashed fingers into bullet holes in an attempt to save the life of the patient.

There comes a time when making a headline grabbing statement, as Grothman often does in the absence of any meaningful legislation, becomes more of a sad statement about the wasted office space he takes up in the Capitol than anything added for public discourse.

That is precisely what this conservative gas-bag has once again done.

According to Grothman, not only is there no actual pay gap between the sexes, if there was one it wouldn’t matter anyway. After all, men need money more than women do, since they have families to support. “You could argue that money is more important for men,” he told Goldberg. “I think a guy in their first job, maybe because they expect to be a breadwinner someday, may be a little more money-conscious. To attribute everything to a so-called bias in the workplace is just not true.”

When asked about his source for his figures that prove there is no wage gap between the sexes, Grothman stated it was Ann Coulter.

If  the voters of Grothman’s district wanted to truly act in a conservative fashion they should elect a person who would actually use their tax dollars in a competent and serious fashion while  serving the state.

Although I disagree with much of what Grothman says I do believe there is no reason for the state to be passing any “equal pay law”. Get the frickin government out of regulating every single little thing.
