Rick Santorum Leaves Presidential Race, Mentions Daughter Bella In Statement, Never Mentions Mitt Romney

April 10, 2012

On Sunday I predicted the following.

Political families often put everything to use, and I predict Rick Santorum, shortly after the Easter holiday will exit the presidential campaign, and place his rationale, in part, on the health concerns for his daughter.

Today, the prediction was proven to be correct.

Santorum said Tuesday afternoon that Bella had recovered after a “difficult weekend,” but that the situation “did cause us to think in the role that we have as parents in her life.” He said that “this was a time for prayer and thought over this past weekend.”

My final thought about this matter is it would have been better for Santorum to make his statement in a place called Waterloo than in Gettysburg.

Yes. And I have no retort at hand. I will hang around slightly embarrassed until the whole thing goes away.
