Video: Wood Ducks Visit Eagles Nest At Norfolk Botanical Garden

April 28, 2012

There is not much egg-laying excitement this season at the Norfolk Botanical Garden’s eagle nest (link located on right side of this blog) and therefore much is made when other interesting happenings take place.

All season the fact the male is ‘dating’ four females–even though the females are most aggressive–might have something to do with the lack of eggs in the large nest.

But today something rather unique happened.

Two wood ducks decided to stop by and see if anyone else was home.

Thanks for the update—this makes me sad–but I know it is in the best interest of the eagles.

I hope you read comments to old posts. The Norfolk eagle nest has been taken down.

I thought I would check to see if the male settled on a new mate this fall. As it happens the nest was taken down two days ago.
