President Obama Has Chance To Address Gay Marriage And Equality

May 9, 2012

Leaders are those who rise above the fray and the short-sighted members of society to speak for the greater aspirations of a nation.

Such is the hope for many in this land as we await the words and tone of President Obama today concerning gay rights.

In an interview this afternoon that will surely touch on gay rights, President Obama has the chance–again–to speak to the rights that all should have when in comes to marriage.

There are always those who waffle and hedge in a bid to make some political play.  That gay Americans have been dealt in this fashion for so long is a shame that must end.

Let it start today with a strong and progressive response by President Obama when asked about the rights of those now denied their full civil rights in this land.
