Dane County To Experience Thundersnow, Blizzard Conditions With Major Winter Storm Set For Wednesday/Thursday

December 18, 2012

The little kid in all of us is about to come back to life.  Just in time for Christmas there is a massive winter production about to be staged by Mother Nature.

There is nothing like the feeling when first seeing the falling snow, knowing it is going to fall at a rate of 2-3 inches during the thundersnows, and in the end will reach over a foot in most areas around Madison.

Add to that the high winds which will create blizzard conditions, and it is clear we all will need some Windex to wipe our nose prints which will be left on window panes as we press the glass over the hours that the storm rages.

Once it is over, (unless you are one of those who needs to walk in the howling whiteness, and we know who fits into that category) comes the shoveling of the snow into piles that resemble pyramids.

There are those who hate snow, and think colder air is something to curse.  But for snow enthusiasts, and admirers of winter beauty the next couple of days will be perfect.

Enjoy and take some time to see the beauty of the flakes.

A snow blizzard is too much of a good thing. A few inches or so of snow is all that is needed for some winter beauty, throwing snowballs, making snowmen, and having a white (snowy) Christmas.

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas on a white sandy beach!
