Concealed-Carry Drunken Firearm Use Leads To Arrest

September 10, 2013

Ah yes, the wisdom of passing concealed carry….

Andre Bailey, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man is charged with endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon while under in the influence of an intoxicant, a misdemeanor, and could face up to nine months in jail if convicted.

The complaint says a Milwaukee police officer saw Bailey stagger out from behind a bush just after 3 a.m. Sept. 1 in the 5600 block of N. 95th St. Bailey was holding an open bottle of gin and had bloodshot eyes, and the officer noted an alcohol smell on his breath.

The officer found a 9-millimeter handgun next to the bush, and Bailey admitted it was his, the complaint says. When the officer placed him under arrest, Bailey said, “Why because I’m drinking, I didn’t do anything wrong, I’m a CCW holder.”
