July 4th Political Trivia

Many of you may know that former Presidents Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died within just five hours of each other on July 4, 1826 — the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

But did you also know there is a third president who died on July 4th? Though not a signatory of the Declaration of Independence, James Monroe, the fifth President of the United States, died five years after Jefferson and Adams on July 4, 1831.
