Opponents of this week’s controversial U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby will be protesting outside the craft store chain’s Madison-area location at South Towne Mall Saturday. The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at the West Broadway store in Monona. The protest is being organized by the Wisconsin National Organization for Women. Participants are being asked to wear purple and red.
“We want people to understand that this is a perilous loophole,” said Wendi Kent, president of NOW’s Madison chapter. “This is a continuation of the religiously driven attack on women and their right to safely access affordable health care.”
