The fact that business, in the case of Walmart in Arkansas, is taking a stand alongside the public is truly a moment this nation can be proud. For too long gay Americans had to fight a lonely long road that seemed all uphill. Now we are witnessing a nation coming together and meeting on the hill of justice to right the wrongs from bigots who still think they are in control.
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson says he does not plan to sign the version of the religious freedom bill that sits on his desk. He called on the state Legislature to make changes before sending it back to him. The Arkansas House on Tuesday approved a measure that mirrors the one Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed into law. The Indiana law sparked outrage from opponents who said it opened the door to discrimination against gays and lesbians.
