10 Days Ago I suggested Speaker Boehner “Tell The Conservative Jackasses To Go To Hell”

September 25, 2015

From September 14th.

There is no way I would want the job or stress that Boehner faces in the weeks and months to come.  There is no way I would not at once jettison the chamber that is more committed to driving the nation into the ditch than governing.   I would retire to a beachfront home and get a glass of wine and read in the sun and let the knuckle-draggers spin and slime away in the muck which they have created.

I have long been of the view Boehner could have been a great speaker as he wants to move the trains on time.  He could have worked out compromises with the White House had there not been a continuous narcissistic band of loud-mouths from the far-right threatening his every move.   Those deadweights on the party are more interested in the sound of their shouts and blather than the well being of the nation.

For that reason alone I hope Boehner comes to peace within himself and tells the conservative jackasses to go to hell and takes off for his time in the sun.  I would be happy to share my reading list with him.

Tin ear Tommy, (or tommy), I hear Sylvan Learning Centers have good courses in reading comprehension, check them out. I didn’t say the Pope changed the church’s position. I said unlike the Repugnants, the Pope is CONSISTENTLY pro-life. Your second point about helping the poor is rightly debatable. As the repugnant conservative gospel (Rush 14:13-21) would say, “Jesus said to the crowds assembled, ‘want some bread and fishes? Go to the next town, get a SNAP card with your photo on it, (but it won’t be good for voting purposes) and come back tomorrow. But be prepared to piss in a cup and wait for the results before you get any. It must be your fault you’re hungry and naked.’”

Silly, make no mistake, the Pope has not shifted away from the truth that abortion is a mortal sin. And there is more to helping the poor than your old statist policies which have not made any significant progress toward ending poverty in decades and decades.

    Tom,

Most people who come to this blog do not read posts in chronological fashion. I see everyday how people come to this blog from search engines and so I fully understand how it looks that I spiked the ball but those seeking Speaker Reed will see it and those seeking Boehner resignation will also see it–but most will not see both. I do however applaud my readers who visit here several times a week and note most of the posts–which you see to do. So, thanks.

Maybe Boehner had a “come to Jesus” moment listening to the Pope talk about caring for the poor, treating immigrants with respect, being against the death penalty, taking action to protect and heal the environment and being “pro-life,” but not in the Repugnant sense that life begins at conception and the state’s interest ends at birth. Boehner’s whole speakership has been in direct opposition to this. On a different subject, I’ve always thought that an elected official who asks for a full term and resigns in the middle, unless for their own health or that of their family, should pay for the special election costs out of their pension. Finally, I don’t understand why the Teabagger tail is wagging the dog. If you have 260 members, with 60 supposedly “conservative” wack-a-doodles who would rather shut down the government over a lost cause which costs more money and harms the economy, why not tell them to eff off and pass a funding bill with the 200 responsible conservatives and 170 Democrats? If they want to make a statement, let them make all the misleading statements and lies they want about Planned Parenthood and the “doctored” videos, pass the bill and have Obama veto it. But Boehner ‘s failed speakership has never had the cojones to do this.

Good call, Deke. But quoting yourself in back to back posts is kind of like spiking the football….
