Why Is Senator Ron Johnson Reaching Into His Pant’s Pocket?
The news is all upbeat when it comes into Democratic United States Senate candidate Russ Feingold. The reason has to with his fundraising goals this year. Feingold outraised Republican Senator Ron Johnson $2.3 million to $1.4 million, and Johnson only has a $3.5 million to $3.4 million cash on hand lead.
What is an inept Johnson (recall his climate change remarks to make my point) to do when the cash just is not there in the amounts that he will need to make himself viable? Please note that many in the state still have no idea who Johnson is after many years in office, and can not name one thing he has ‘accomplished’.
Therefore Johnson may have to reach into his pant’s pocket for his wallet–or more to the point his wife’s money–as that is how he came to get his financial support. If he is reluctant to self-fund this time, I bet his wife is not. Who would want more than she for him to be anywhere than in Wisconsin? And can anyone blame her? He is a putz.
Therefore given Johnson’s early deficits in the polls I think we will see some of the personal Johnson funds spent. But for anyone with a sense for where this campaign race is going knows those dollars are headed for a dark hole.
Might as well invest in cardboard for the all the good it will do the GOP dreams of keeping the seat.
