Hoping This News Makes Phyllis Schlafly Choke On Her Prune Juice

December 3, 2015

When I was a teenager there was one woman–other than Anita Bryant–who made me wonder what life events made what I assumed was just another woman turn into a bitchy kook.  Phyllis Schlafly was a pain in the ass of society for so long, and appeared on programs like Phil Donahue’s talk show just to irritate.  There was no way–even to my inexperienced teenage eyes–that anyone could possibly believe what she was trying to sell.

I recall how she ranted on about not wanting to see women have any opportunities in the military service.  She was also the one who stated it would make for less sexual assaults on college campuses if women were not in intendance.  You know dumb and knocked up at home to a domineering husband is such a better life choice.   As I said, she was a kook.

I thought of this aging relic today when once again America moved forward.

Starting at once all U.S. military possitons are to be open for women.  What this means is that women will now be allowed to fill about 220,000 jobs that were limited to men.  So even in jobs relating to infantry, armor, reconnaissance and special operations units women can have the job if they qualify and meet the standards.

That is the way it should be.

Somewhere I know Schlafly  will be aware of this stride forward for women.  I just hope she also knows she spent a wasted life spitting into the wind

yeah, except for the actual study which indicated that combat units with women performed worse in every metric than men only units. So women will get killed on the battlefield and get men killed, too. Real progress.
