President Obama To Be Applauded For Stepping Up Game On Gun Control

January 4, 2016

I, along with a wide swath of the nation, are mighty pleased President Obama is stepping up his game when it comes to the massive problem this nation faces with gun violence.   Only those in congress who are bought and sold by the gun lobby or gun manufactures are intellectually unable, or more to the point unwilling, to address the serious flaws in our nation’s laws over these deadly weapons.   Congress has proved time and again unable to muster the spirit to work for the best needs of the whole nation when it comes to gun control.

This week Obama will announce some gun-control actions he can take for the people of this nation in the face of total impotency from the Republican-controlled congress.   He is right when speaking about the many parents, children, and average-day citizens who contact him about the need for some sensible actions to stem the tide of gun violence.  He is expected to issues an executive action with the goal of expanding background checks on gun sales.

To further the dialogue and shine a light on the issue Obama will participate in a town hall on gun control hosted by Anderson Cooper on CNN.   That event will take place on January 7th at 8 P.M. ET. The discussion will take place at George Mason University in Virginia in front of a live audience who will represent different sides of the debate.

No one needs to be reminded Americans of the many multiple shooting attacks that have been a part of our almost weekly headlines or the everyday carnage of inner-city gun violence.   This violence from guns simply needs to be a priority in this nation as we seek answers.

the first sentence of the last paragraph needs revision. I suggest you remove “Americans”.
